#1Hope For Addiction Recovery

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at our #1HopeForAddictionRecovery Mandarin Talk jointly organised by One Hope Centre and Glimmer of Hope Ministry on Saturday 6 June 2026 at Geylang Chinese Methodist Church.

The session focused on an often-overlooked reality: Addiction affects not only the individual but also their family members and loved ones. Families often experience emotional stress, uncertainty, and helplessness as they journey alongside someone struggling with addiction.

From the sharing by our Head Counsellor, Wong Poh Sieng, we hope that the more than 60 participants left with a deeper understanding of addiction, practical coping strategies, and a greater confidence on how they can support their loved ones while maintaining healthy boundaries and caring for their own well-being.

The powerful testimony shared by a family member, Mr D, who spoke openly about his experience supporting a loved one with a gambling addiction has provided participants with practical handles to cope and manage themselves in similar situations. Mr D’s story is a reminder that while the journey can be challenging, hope, support, and recovery are possible.

Remember, together, we can build stronger families and communities where no one has to walk this journey alone.

If you or someone you know is affected by addiction, One Hope Centre is here to help.
